All items must be listed on mygroupauctions.com before they come to the auction. Chairpeople don’t have time to do this for you. It is simple to do. Ask for help before the meeting.
Non-Paid Members must purchase a $5.00 bidder’s card per meeting. Anyone who is bidding must have a bidder’s card. Return bidder’s card at the end of the auction.
These rules are for monthly auctions as well as special auctions. All auctions will be posted on mygroupauctions.com (or MGA for short). Seller is required to list all items they have for sale on MGA website. A picture of the item is not required, but it is highly suggested to help sell your item. The seller is required to print out labels or paper labels and tape them to bag. A legible handwritten label is acceptable, as long as it is done in waterproof ink. Labels must have: Auction item number, species of animal – quantity – sexes (*see below) – your name - phone number or e-mail address. Labels will be available at the meetings if you need them. Each bag / item is required to have a label. PLEASE-NO WRITING DIRECTLY ON THE BAGS ANYMORE. ALL ITEMS SHOULD HAVE A LABEL
Auction Splits: The auction split will be as follows. Paid Members 80% to seller/ 20% to CCY. Non-Members 65% to Seller 35% to CCY. Any bags selling for $1.00 will be considered a donation to the CCY.
Please be respectful of Auction chair during the auction.
Minimum bids: . Any auctions with a minimum bid that do not solicit a bid at that minimum bid can have minimum bid completely dropped by seller immediately and auction continues. If minimum bid isn’t dropped the item will be put back on table for seller to pick up after the auction.
*Marking what fish are in the bag: Fish must be marked with species and designation as to what is in the BAG. Examples: Quantity / A Male / A Female/ sex unknown / Sexed Pair / Breeding Pair – Have produced fry / Trio 1M/2F / Reverse Trio-2M/1F / Breeding Group You must indicate the sexes. ONLY ONE SPECIES OF FISH PER BAG PLEASE. Any plants in a bag with fish will be considered a buffer. Your name and e-mails should be on the bag as well. PLEASE-NO WRITING directly on the bag with magic marker. A label is required on all bags.
NO BRINGING IN STYROFOAM BOXES WITH WATER IN THEM……….. THEY CAN LEAK
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING
Bringing fish / aquatic animals to the auction: No Zip Lock Bags For FISH. No Twist Ties or zip ties. Tied bags or rubber band closures only. All three inch or bigger fish must be in buckets with lids. A battery air pump is a great idea. A $3.00 rebagging fee will be charged for leaking or out of compliance bags. Plastic bottles are also allowed as long as they have a tight fitting lid. If the fish are small, taping up the corners so they don’t get trapped is suggested. Fish with hard pointed spines should be double or triple bagged or brought into the auction in a bucket. No selling of two different species in one bag, please. All animals must be legal to sell by Pennsylvania legal statutes . CRAYFISH OF ALL TYPES AND COLORS ARE ILLEGAL IN PENNSYLVANIA.
Numbers of items: There is no real limit to how many items you bring to the auction within reason. Sellers are limited to 5 bags of each species ( color form / location / morphs / fin type) each member is limited to 5 lots of hard goods. Any hard good MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER or labeled as to condition (For Parts).
Bidding: Opening bids per stated on the seller’s bag &/or on MGA. If no minimum bid is stated then the start bid is at the discretion of the auctioneer. The Auctioneer controls the bid / and the auction. Bid increments are as follows. $1.00 increments to $10.00 / after $10.00 it goes to $2.00 increments / Once at $20.00 the increments will go to $5.00 increments until the item is sold. During the bids, you can increase the bid in any amount you want. If you wait to the last minute to bid and the Auctioneer closes the auction the auction is closed. If the auctioneer doesn’t see you please open your mouth lol. Bidding numbers must be in the air while you are bidding. BUMP BIDS WILL COST YOU $2.00 apiece. Fill out a BUMP TAB and pay for the bump. Once the tab is received the item will go to the front of the bid.
Sick / Deformed Animals: Any sick fish will be directly returned to the seller and removed from the auction. No removing fish from the auction once listed on mygroupauctions.com and brought to the meeting. No reselling of any fish in auction that you purchased. IF FRY ARE DEEMED TO SMALL THE COMMITTEE CAN REFUSE SALE OF THE FRY. The CCY assumes no responsibility for condition or guarantee of any fish or hard goods.
ALLOW 10 MINUTES AFTER THE AUCTION IS DONE FOR THE AUCTION CHAIR TO GET EVERYTHING READY. WHEN THEY SAY OK. THEY WILL START PAYING
Paying for your tab: No paying in cash as the auction goes. You can pay in cash at the end of the auction. We accept credit / debit cards, pay pal, cash and checks. If a check bounces a $50.00 fee will be charged. If the check remains unpaid for one month your name will be shared with all clubs within a 500 miles radius of the CCY.
All checks used must have a number of 500 or higher. All Sales are final. And actually any questions will be between the seller and the buyer. The CCY will not mediate any misunderstandings. Any unclaimed items after the auction become property of the CCY. The CCY and their members are not responsible for your items while in meeting room.
ALL PURCHASES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PREMISIS THE DAY OF THE AUCTION.
